DESCRIPTION:Event Details\nBeyond the Black Box: Resolving Disputes over the Implementation and Use of AI | 27 April 2023\nAlibaba founder\, Jack Ma stated recently that “we should use AI to solve problems rather than being controlled by AI.” However\, does the use of AI itself create problems? Should corporate counsel and disputes practitioners be mindful of potential disputes? Or is this paranoia arising from a failure to understand how AI works? \nIn the first of Maxwell Chambers new #BeyondtheBlackBox series\, Benson Lim and Jae Hee Suh will lead the discussion on “Resolving Disputes over the Implementation and Use of AI”. \nThe discussion\, subject to the Chatham House Rules\, will address\, amongst others: \n\nThe use of AI in the legal industry to automate and enhance legal work and the related risks.\nThe potential IP and tech-related disputes arising from the use of AI in the commercial sectors. Examples include chat histories on OpenAI’s ChatGPT being made publicly visible due to a bug.\nThe novel disputes relating to the intersection of government regulations and use of AI. Based in Singapore\, his core team is multi-qualified\, multinational\, and multilingual. He is qualified in Singapore\, England and Wales\, and New York. He also possesses experience in and full rights of audience before Singapore courts. Fluent in English and Chinese\, most of his work is as counsel and mediation advocate. However he has been appointed three times as a sole arbitrator by SIAC and ICC. His experience includes infrastructure\, construction\, energy and natural resources\, corporate\, merger and acquisition\, disputes involving tech companies\, life sciences\, international trade\, investment\, and commodities disputes. \n\nJae Hee Suh\nJae Hee Suh is a Counsel in Allen & Overy’s International Arbitration team and specialises in international commercial arbitration and investment treaty arbitration. Jae Hee grew up in Korea\, studied and practised law in England and Hong Kong\, and is based in Singapore. She has represented States and private clients in the automotive\, energy\, finance\, infrastructure\, pharmaceutical\, private equity\, and TMT sectors for arbitrations under various rules\, including the HKIAC\, ICC\, ICSID\, LCIA\, SIAC\, and UNCITRAL rules.
