[Press Release] Swiss Arbitration Association (ASA) and Maxwell Chambers sign cooperation agreement to strengthen strategic partnership to deepen ties between Singapore and Switzerland
Singapore, 27 August 2026 — Maxwell Chambers and the Swiss Arbitration Association (ASA) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), establishing a strategic partnership that reflects a shared commitment to advancing international dispute resolution through closer collaboration across leading arbitration organisations. As part of the partnership, ASA will establish a virtual presence at Maxwell Chambers, reinforcing Singapore’s role as a gateway to Asia and creating new opportunities for professional exchange, thought leadership and collaboration between the Swiss and Asian dispute resolution communities.
For many years, ASA has built strong relationships across Asia through its Singapore Ambassadors and active engagement with practitioners in the region. Establishing a virtual presence at Maxwell Chambers is therefore a natural progression of that engagement, providing ASA with a permanent platform from which to expand its engagement with institutions, practitioners and users throughout Asia.
The partnership also reflects Maxwell Chambers’ broader strategy of working with leading dispute resolution organisations that have made meaningful contributions to the development of arbitration and mediation in their respective jurisdictions. By bringing these organisations together through Singapore, Maxwell Chambers seeks to strengthen links between established dispute resolution communities, encourage the exchange of ideas and experiences, and create opportunities for collaboration that benefit the international ADR community as a whole.
Andrea Meier, President of ASA and partner with Walder Wyss, Switzerland, comments:
“ASA is excited about this opportunity to establish a presence in Asia. Signing the MoU is just the first step in a whole host of activities that we are planning to hold at Maxwell Chambers. Singapore and Switzerland share a strong bilateral partnership. Culturally and economically, both are highly innovative nations, and ASA is proud to build on this relationship by advancing international arbitration together. Maxwell Chambers is the ideal partner for ASA to further pursue this goal.”
“Maxwell Chambers’ position as the foremost integrated dispute resolution facility in the world has always been because of the top international ADR institutions that are based here. We are pleased to now have the ASA join us as our latest new partner. The ASA has been an integral part of the development of arbitration in Switzerland and internationally, and we are delighted to support its growing engagement in Asia and look forward to working together on initiatives that will benefit practitioners, institutions and users across both regions.” said Ban Jiun Ean, Chief Executive of Maxwell Chambers.
