Virtual Hybrid Hearing Checklist
Checklist to ensure a smooth hybrid or virtual hearing
1. Find a conducive and quiet location with good lighting to participate in the hybrid or virtual hearing.
2. Ensure that your device has a stable internet connection
and the necessary software installed.
3. If possible, use earphones with a microphone for better clarity.
4. Always mute your microphone when not speaking. This enables the tribunal and parties to interact with each other undisturbed and reduces feedback that would disrupt the hearing.
5. Speak one at a time and refrain from speaking over other participants.
6. Identify yourself by stating your name and party when speaking to assist with identication and preparation of an accurate transcript.
7. If audio feedback and interference occurs, turn the volume of your device down.
8. Minimise competing sounds in the background such as typing. These noises may distract and interfere with the running of the hearing and impact the quality of the transcript.
9. Test all devices such as video or call functions ahead of the hybrid or virtual hearing.
10. Consult the in-hearing Maxwell Chambers Moderator for prompt assistance with any technical diculties
