Deputy/Manager (Legal and Business Services)
We are seeking a dynamic professional to play a role in positioning Maxwell Chambers as a global leader in the dispute resolution and arbitration industry. This role combines legal expertise and business acumen to develop and execute strategies that drive market expansion, foster strategic partnerships, and enhance the organisation’s international presence.
Key responsibilities include identifying and pursuing sales opportunities to promote Maxwell Chambers’ services, contributing to thought leadership initiatives through research and publications, and engaging with stakeholders to build and maintain strategic relationships. The role also involves representing Maxwell Chambers at industry events and collaborating across teams to organise impactful activities that showcase the organisation’s capabilities. Ideal candidates will have a strong understanding of the legal and arbitration sectors, coupled with the ability to drive growth through business development and stakeholder engagement.
Key responsibilities:
1. Strategic sales and marketing
- Proactively identify and pursue sales opportunities to promote Maxwell Chambers’ services to potential users, including law firms, corporations, arbitration institutions, and other stakeholders.
- Work closely with the marketing team to create impactful sales collateral and promotional materials.
- Maintain and expand Maxwell Chambers’ client base through effective lead generation and relationship management.
2. Thought leadership and research
- Conduct research and analysis of trends in international arbitration and the global legal services market to identify new opportunities for growth.
- Contribute to thought leadership initiatives by preparing articles, presentations, and materials for academic and professional publications.
- Collaborate on the creation of insights that highlight Maxwell Chambers’ leadership in the industry.
3. Business development and stakeholder engagement
- Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders, including clients, law firms, arbitration institutions, and professional networks.
- Represent Maxwell Chambers at industry events, conferences, and seminars, both locally and internationally, to enhance brand awareness and generate leads.
- Coordinate with the marketing and events team to ensure a seamless integration of sales efforts with outreach and engagement initiatives.
4. Event planning and programming
- Collaborate on event programming to ensure alignment with Maxwell Chambers’ strategic objectives and audience needs.
5. Legal and corporate communications
- Oversee internal and external corporate communications, including preparing press releases and handling media relations.
6. Data and market insights
- Evaluate data and statistical trends to inform sales and marketing strategies.
- Use data-driven insights to measure the success of initiatives and refine approaches for better outcomes.
7. Flexibility and other responsibilities
- Perform other duties or projects assigned by the Chief Strategy Officer.
Qualifications and experience:
- A Law Degree (LLB or equivalent); experience in international arbitration is advantageous.
- Minimum of 2 years or equivalent relevant legal work experience.
- Proven experience in sales, marketing, and business development, preferably in the legal or professional services sector.
- Strong understanding of policy, research, and market trends, especially in dispute resolution and arbitration.
- Data analysis and statistical skills to evaluate trends and inform strategic decisions.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects effectively.
- Proactive and organised, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
Marketing Intern
Key responsibilities:
- Assist in copywriting and preparation of creative assets for social media, advertising, and promotional materials.
- Maintain and update the corporate website to ensure fresh and engaging content.
- Create email direct marketing (eDM) campaigns on an ad hoc basis and manage the associated database.
- Provide support in planning and executing events such as seminars, webinars, and networking events.
Qualifications and experience:
- Internships are generally offered for periods of between six to eight weeks.
- Currently pursuing a degree/diploma in Business, Marketing, Communications or Legal.
- Strong time management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and independently.
- A proactive approach and willingness to adapt and learn in a fast-paced environment.
- Exceptional teamwork and collaboration skills.
- Talent for crafting compelling copy and demonstrating a flair for words.
- Bonus: Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud tools such as Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, and/or videography skills.
Marketing Intern
